What a long day! Ive been shooting from 9am-10:30pm. But was worth it! New Hampshire photographer Rick Trottier came down to the studio to shoot models Mariah Voas and Jamie Mercadante with me. We started out inside using my new 10ft. blue paper bg and a couple strobes. As usual it was a fun and relaxing time, got some pizza, and did some more shooting. When the skies cleared up we went outside to shoot.

I had my first celebrity photoshoot today with Real World Boston star, Syrus Yarbrough. He was in the area doing a promotion at a local club. Worcester promoter, Marissa Krause contacted me about doing the shoot since he was looking to update his portfolio. I couldnt say no! The shoot was quick and easy, some plain bg's and then went outside for a couple shots with the industrial theme. He was sponsored by a few companies that needed photos... LA boutique, Aqua and Monster Energy Drink. That night I met him at Amsterdam Lounge for some drinks. I couldnt believe how many people recognized him! He now has his own clothing line and tours the country doing promotions at clubs and bars. Make sure to watch him this September in the Real World/Road Rules Challenge on MTV. : )

Fast cars, old cars, new cars, performance cars, burnt tires, and hotdogs! What could be better? How about 15 girls, 4 photographers, and a bikini contest? The annual Summer Nationals held in Worcester was the best summer kickoff you could ask for! An estimated 2 million automotive fans showed up for the weekend festivities. There was the afternoon parade, photoshoot, and night time contest on Saturday held at the Royal Plaza in downtown. Check in for models was at 10am which was when I arrived there. I met up with photographersa Rick Trottier, Michael Steinberg, and owner of dvd portfolios Tony?. The parade went from main street to Green Hill park where hundreds of cars were lined up and thousands of people walking around scoping out the scene. When we arrived at the park, the girls all lined up for everyone to see them and take pictures, and we walked down towards the water. For the next couple hours we split the girls in teams and had them shoot with each photographer. We lined them up in front of cars, on motorcycles, in pick up trucks, and along the lake. Fans were even getting involved in the shots. The 2 hours went by so fast, but we were all able to get some great shots of the girls. We headed back to the hotel for some dinner and down time before the nigh show started. We did a quick run through of the contest and the doors opened at 7 with a rush of a crowd that filled up the entire room. When the contest was over, we took the winners and brought them into the pool area of the hotel and did our own little photoshoot. We used some strobes for lighting and each photographer got to take turns with the models. I think out of the entire day, those were some of our best shots.

Framingham State College has a fashion club that produce a yearly publication called Style Magazine. The magazine showcases numerous talented students work ranging from photography and graphic design to journailsm and fashion styling. This year they came to Flash House Studios to use our warehouse and resources to make there magazine photoshoot the best ever. The day started at 9am on a drizzly sunday in late February. Stylists, designers, photographers, make up artists, and producers filled the 2,000 square foot warehouse space. The day was filled with some of the best creative energy in central Mass. The first few hours were a bit slow, photographers and producers worked out there shots and lighting while stylists and the hair/makeup team were beautifying the models. They first worked on the cover shot which tool about an hour in all to shoot. Adam and I helped out with alot of the technical parts of the shoot, it was fun teaching people what we know and learning from others. About 2 in the afternoon we ordered 8 large pizzas from dominoes and had a great time discussing shoots, modeling, and goals. After break they worked on article shots and individual photoshoots. The long and exhausting day ended around 7pm and it was worth every minute of it! Here are some behind the scenes photos that were taken throughout the day. To see all the photos of the day go to our facebook page.
